Define how each measurement was taken
Lay your reference hoodie flat without stretching it. Record chest width from one underarm seam to the other, body length using a stated start point, and sleeve length using the same seam points shown in the seller's chart. Note dropped shoulders or raglan construction because sleeve comparisons can otherwise mislead.
Record whether you want a pullover or a zip style, the colour name, the size and any version choice. Compare finished garment measurements with another garment; do not confuse a laid-flat width with a body circumference.
Ask about the details the picture cannot settle
List the details that matter to you: hood shape, zip position, pocket shape, cuff finish or a visible print. A seller photograph may describe a different option from the one you select. Keep the selected option text and the photo reference together.
Photos do not establish fabric composition, warmth, shrinkage or long-term print quality. Ask for a specification when it affects the decision. For shipping preparation, record measured weight if available and whether bulky packaging is necessary rather than assuming a standard hoodie weight.
Worked example: compare the cut
Example only: a familiar hoodie measures 58 cm across the chest and 69 cm in body length. One candidate lists 60 cm and 65 cm. That suggests a wider, shorter garment by those stated measurements; it does not prove a comfortable fit. Check that both charts use the same method and ask about any uncertainty.
Record the difference, then use the CSSBuy shop guide when you are ready to prepare an order.
- Save the chart rather than only the size letter.
- Compare zip and pullover variants separately.
- Review cuffs, hem, hood and visible decoration in available photos.
Common questions
Should I size up for an oversized hoodie?
Start with the finished measurements and your preferred existing fit. A larger label does not define the shape or length.
Can a photo prove a hoodie is warm?
No. A photo supports visible checks, while warmth depends on material, construction, conditions and personal preference.
