1. Separate item cost from parcel cost

Keep the seller-listed item amount and Chinese local delivery separate from international shipping in your CSSBuy spreadsheet. Add any applicable service, packaging or destination charge only when you have a reliable current basis. Record the currency and the date beside every amount.

Unknown is a useful value. Leaving an international shipping field unresolved is more honest and more actionable than filling it with a generic price for an item category.

2. Gather measurements for the parcel you mean

Record actual weight and external package length, width and height with the units visible. Distinguish a product's dimensions from the packed parcel's dimensions. Several small items plus protective materials can make a different package from any one seller's individual parcel.

List the actual item attributes, such as a battery or liquid, where relevant. The official calculator includes commodity and size restrictions; an attractive amount is not useful if the selected route does not accept the parcel. Use current route information for the real decision.

3. Compare weight and volume conditionally

Volumetric weight depends on a route's divisor and rules. Do not apply one divisor to every line. The worked example below is a manual measurement scenario. This page's budget worksheet only adds the monetary amounts you enter; it does not calculate volumetric weight or quote CSSBuy shipping.

Example only: a parcel is 40 × 30 × 20 cm and weighs 3 kg. Its volume is 24,000 cm³. If a hypothetical route uses a divisor of 6,000 cm³ per kg and bills the greater weight, the volumetric figure is 4 kg and that conditional comparison selects 4 kg. It says nothing about the price or acceptance of a real route.

4. Compare packaging with its purpose intact

Make a separate scenario for each genuinely suitable packaging option. Keep the items and destination constant, then change the measured package inputs. Consider protection and shape as well as volume. A structured bag, fragile item and soft garment may need different packing decisions.

CSSBuy describes consolidation and packaging services, but their availability does not guarantee a saving. Removing a box or combining items can change both dimensions and weight.

5. Save the quote context before deciding

Open the official calculator for current route estimates and review the conditions in your account before shipment. Save the destination, parcel inputs, selected route, checked date and any stated restriction together. CSSBuy's Buy For Me guide says the final shipment fee uses carrier-verified size and weight, so keep an estimate separate from a final charge.

The CSSBuy shop guide puts this step into the wider ordering workflow. If a later logistics question concerns a submitted parcel, use the relevant parcel record rather than treating a research worksheet as a shipment record.

  • Destination and actual commodity attributes.
  • Route-specific conditions, quote date and remaining unknowns.

The item price is one part of the order. Add your own estimates in the same currency to compare the whole cost.

An estimate worksheet, not a CSSBuy shipping quote. Enter a deliberate zero for a cost that does not apply.

Common questions

Does this page show live CSSBuy shipping prices?

No. The budget worksheet adds the amounts you enter. The weight-and-volume example is hypothetical arithmetic; use CSSBuy's official calculator and account flow for current estimates and terms.

Is volumetric weight always the chargeable weight?

No. Billing rules differ by route. Apply the particular route's current conditions rather than a universal assumption.

Will consolidation always save money?

No. Compare the resulting package measurements and relevant route rules, while keeping protection and item suitability in view.
